Slowly the mangy foxes move across the walls toward the luminous figure,
who beckons to them with an open hand that holds a vine of red berries,
 enticing and sickly sweet.
Atropa, Bella Donna - deadly nightshade.
Moss and lichen form a veil through which the luminous figure emerges,
 a transition from 2D to 3D space.
At her feet lies a patch of soil,
like earth disturbed by the planting of bulbs
 or a recent burial.
A children’s rhyme hangs on the floor to ceiling panes of glass,
choking the light from outside. It tells the tale of Bella Donna,
a young woman lost in the forest, living amongst foxes and loam.
